7. 5 dual instrument instruction flight hours (R-22), 10 dual instrument instruction flight hours (R-44), 15 ground instruction hours, provides the final phase of flight and simulator training towards the completion of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Instrument Pilot Rating, Helicopter category. Topics include instrument departure procedures, en route navigation, instrument approach procedures, aeronautical decision-making, emergency procedures, crew and single pilot resource management, and night operations. A valid FAA Medical Certificate is required. Course offered every fall, spring and may be offered during additional sessions.

Prerequisite(s): AVMT 234 and approval of the Aviation Program Director.
Lab Fee: $11,525.00.
