Heba Obaid

Heba is preparing for a high-flying career in aviation tuition-free.

When it comes to flying, aviation student Heba Obaid is clear about her “why.”

“I like how challenging it is and how it pushes me to learn, grow and become a better leader,” she says. “Flying comes with a strong sense of responsibility and determination, which motivates me every day.”

Heba plans to become a flight instructor and eventually join an airline.

“CCBC will help me get all the certificates leading up to the instructing certificate,” she says.

The program has made it easier for me to plan out my future in aviation by giving me clear steps. The instructors are always ready to help, and learning from experienced pilots has been amazing.

Heba’s also part of the Honors College, which she credits with helping her grow personally and academically.

“Being in the program has taught me a lot about leadership and helped me improve my performance both in school and outside,” she says. “It’s encouraged me to challenge myself academically and get more involved in the community.”

Beyond the classroom, Heba serves as a student leader on the Student Programming Board, where she helps create events that bring students together. Alongside these responsibilities, she is able to focus on her studies and chart her future tuition-free.

“Cost definitely played a factor in my choosing CCBC,” she says. “I received the College Promise scholarship, which helps me focus on my studies instead of worrying about how to pay for classes or out-of-pocket flight lessons. After graduating, I don’t have to worry about student debt.”

With her determination and tuition-free training at CCBC, Heba will soon be cleared for takeoff into a limitless future.

Heba is part of the Fresh Faces 2025-26 cohort.
