Meet our Donors

Group of CCBC donors

We love our donors.

Our donors help to reduce roadblocks to college access, strengthen our area's workforce and enrich the student experience at CCBC. Every single donor is important to our mission and, most importantly, our students. Meet just a few of the individuals, corporations and foundations who have made a lasting positive impact on our institution–and community–for years to come.

Individual Donor Spotlights

More than two-thirds of CCBC donors come from individuals and families. Whether it is from an alumnus, an employee, business owner or community member, these gifts live on in the achievement of our students.

Supporting Justice

Philanthropist and immigration attorney, Sheela Murthy has supported CCBC for more than 15 years. She helped established a global lecture series that highlights international and global leaders in business, government and education."The intent of the Sheela Murthy/Donna Reihl Lecture Series is to open the minds and hearts of college students to the importance of global issues, irrespective of where they choose to work and what they choose to do."

Supporting Student Achievement

Melissa Hopp Melissa Hopp, Vice President of Administration, has been a compassionate leader at CCBC for nearly two decades. Not only is her leadership an asset to the college, but her philanthropic efforts as well—directed at ensuring students, faculty and staff have the resources and infrastructure they need to succeed.  support is motivated by her desire to honor the life and legacy of her parents, for whom she established an endowment fund, while directly addressing the evolving needs of CCBC students.

Supporting Future Nurses

Lloyd Family gathered Al and his wife Mary chose to honor their daughter's memory by creating a scholarship in her name. In the decades that followed, Al and his family contributed more than $2 million to CCBC, supporting scholarships, programs and the needs of individual students, with whom he often formed lasting relationships. This legacy of giving support to others is proudly reflected in the Alvin and Mary Lloyd College Center at CCBC Dundalk, unveiled in 2024.

Supporting CCBC Growth

Romadka family

For many years, the leadership, philanthropy and advocacy of Bob Romadka and his family played a vital role in CCBC’s growth. Their contributions were key to building a new library, establishing a nursing program, and providing essential funding for student success and staff advancement. Additionally, they were the driving force behind naming the CCBC Essex theater after their late colleague and friend, F. Scott Black, the former School of Liberal Arts dean.

A. Eugene Hoeper Foundation

A. Eugene and Bernice Hoeper contributed more than $1 million in endowment funding to CCBC through their foundation. The endowment supports scholarships for CCBC’s American Sign Language (ASL) and interpreter preparation students. The funding will ensure that students are supported as they work toward becoming interpreters for the Deaf.
