FoodWorks Basic Culinary Training
FoodWorks is an intensive 12-week program to get students ready for working in the food service industry. Classes meet Monday through Friday, with two days remote. Students learn basic culinary skills and techniques, get familiar with working in a commercial kitchen, and much more. Students receive training in food safety and earn their ServSafe Food Handler and ServSafe Manager certifications, as well as the FoodWorks Basic Culinary Workforce Training Certificate from CCBC. Students are supported by a Chef trainer, along with a career development coach and a case manager, for a holistic approach to job readiness and success.

The ManageFirst® Professional (MFP), developed by the National Restaurant Association Solutions, is a management development program that helps students gain the skills they need to start or boost their management careers in the food service industry. Students will also earn their ServSafe® certification.

ServSafe® Food Safety Manager Certification<ServSafe® Food Safety Training and Certification (HSL 016)
Earn your updated ServSafe® Food Safety certificate—one of the industry's most well known and most in-demand certifications from the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation. Topics to be covered include food safety systems, sanitation regulations and standards, accident prevention procedures, and procedures for proper purchasing and storage of food.ServSafe® Food Safety Training and Re-Certification (HSL 017)Update your certification. If you have been previously certified through ServSafe® you can re-certify through successful completion of an in-class exam. Topics include: current changes in food codes, causes of food contamination and illnesses that may result, sanitation regulations, accident prevention, and procedures for proper purchasing/storage of food.

Training for Intervention Procedures (TIPS®)
Prepare to effectively and safely handle difficult situations related to the serving of alcohol. Designed for casino staff, bartenders, servers, hosts and other restaurant personnel, upon successful completion of the advanced exam you may apply for a 4-year certification from T.I.P.S.
Professional Bartending
Shake things up with a new career as a bartender! Learn what it takes for you to successfully tend bar and stand out in this high growth career area. Earn the TIPS (Training for Intervention Procedures) as you practice the art of mixology in our industry-standard classroom bars. Must be 21 years of age or older on the first day of class. All materials included.

Food Truck Operator
Develop the culinary and business strategies to start a food truck business in Maryland. Learn menu planning, food cost management, marketing and branding, licensing and permitting needs. Students may become ServSafe manager certified upon successful completion of the in-class exam.
Food Entrepreneur
Food entrepreneurs combine culinary and business skills to bring their product or services to market, and have diverse operations such as food trucks, cafes, catering, pop-up shops, and meal preparation services. The food entrepreneur is responsible for product development, marketing their brand, meeting food safety regulations, and managing costs and finances. They often focus on niche or specialty products and services, and may be a cottage food business.
